Superman- the sequel!
Aditya
is really into Superman now. We played again this morning where I was
his friend and helper Spiderman. I proposed we make and wear time
machine watches with DD, MM, YYYY, HH, MM, SS fields to set the new
time. (We both are nerds.) He loved it. We made and put on the watches.
He then (out of nowhere) said "I got an email on my watch. There is a
5 year old girl in France who we need to save from the Volcano".
Then we spun around ourselves to a countdown and went to France in that
second, saved her, picked her up... and on his recommendation, we even
adopted her!
A little later, he decided to invoke his super
powers to bring back her dead parents to life. (He is probably anxious
about this topic so this is often a theme for us.)
Once his dad (Jospeh) was back to life, I (now playing the 5 year old
natalie) offered to put on the time machine watch on Joesph and turn him
into a 5 year old. He not only agreed, he even came to the park with
Natalie and Natalie's mom (now also his mom:-)
We practiced
taking turns going on the giant jumping pad (made from the trampoline).
We also practiced asking for a turn (even if we thought we could hear a
NO). Both are big issues for Aditya right now.
